Proposal by Independent Social Movement ResidentiBeltin – 07/09/2021 Ⓒ (Digital & Published Rights)
Unfortunately, a number of inconveniences arose over the years - several instances where religious activities were disturbed by loud music from establishments, clutter of tables, chairs and platforms. In short, respect was lost - everyone must respect these religious activities.
01) Work shall be done so that every aspect of these matters is strengthened again and the old customs return among us in Valletta.
02) The current economic model favours extreme commercialism. We work for the new economic model with the aim that the locality attracts permanent residents. This way it will be guaranteed that every parish does not end up without people/residents.
03) Students will be provided through collaboration with arts schools so that while gaining experience through workshops and courses, feast enthusiasts have additional help.
04) Our mission involves working to revoke and avoid further obstruction around our churches, masses, services, funerals, and ceremonial and religious events. The religious aspect should not have to bow its head to such systematically planned sabotage of disrespect.
05) Beyond the inconveniences, we will also address the lack of sufficient funding from the State and from every entity involved - our heritage such as chapels and churches need all the support they can get. Therefore, we suggest the Local Council should have a primary vital role in all of this.
*Every proposal will be solidified and improved once the Council, under our leadership, convenes public meetings with residents.
